Why A+ Schools Matter Here

Fast‑growing counties like Brunswick are racing to catch up to record enrollment to build new schools and expand capacity. Packed classrooms, aging facilities, and overworked staff make it harder for students to learn and for teachers to stay. Low teacher pay makes it difficult to recruit and keep qualified educators. When schools are visibly struggling, it hurts property values and sends a clear message to doctors, nurses, and other professionals that our community is not serious about investing in the next generation.
Insist local officials address the problem. Seek assistance at the State and Federal level

What We Support

The Blue Beacons support sustained, equitable investments in public education:
  • Building and expanding schools where growth is highest, so students aren’t crammed into overcrowded buildings or forced into long bus rides
  • Fully funding core classroom needs—modern materials, technology, and support staff—so teachers can focus on teaching, not just coping
  • Paying teachers and support staff competitively and respecting their expertise, so they can afford to live here and build long careers serving our kids.
  • Upgrading facilities, including HVAC, roofs, and safety features, to provide a healthy learning environment and to protect the community’s investment.
  • Using transparent data and independent studies to guide school siting, boundaries, and capital plans, instead of short‑term political calculations.
We support leaders who are willing to raise and allocate the revenue needed for strong public schools, and who see quality education as essential to attracting employers, medical providers, and other professionals to our region.
